This is not like Duke Lacrosse incident. The victim filed a report and the authorities and they did not investigate for months. In fact, they told her at the time she reported the attack that she shouldn’t pursue this because it would cause her a lot of trouble. Winston said he didn’t even know the girl. Finally, due to the relentless follow up from the victim, the authorities were forced to investigate, and whaddya know, “a subsequent sample of his DNA matched evidence obtained by police at the time of the incident.” Then his story changed from “I don’t even know her” to “it was consensual.”
