“It took her awhile to go solo but she’s more respected than she was back in the day.”
Is that Yoko? Give me some of what you’re smoking.....

Its a tie game, and Sting is in the barroom pacing, completely bored, going, `I really want to play, Foster says. He was driving everybody nuts, so finally, I say, `Look, whats your name? Sting? Reminds me of the Dana Carvey routine about him.
He called himself a verb, present tense. Hes not Stung. Hes not Stinging. Hes Sting.
"From now on, would you mind calling me 'Sting'."
"F-- YOU...Yeah my name is "Bite" and this my buddy, "Scratch."
"Now get me a beer, Gordy!"
"Ok, two Coors Lights coming up.....Laugh now, but I'm going to be a big rock star one day, you'll see! I'll be watching you, watching you!"

Hoffs is married to the film’s director Jay Roach. Damn him. He’s also a huge lefty. Damn him again.

Isn’t Dylan somewhat conservative, or is my memory unreliable?

My understanding is that both U2 and The Police played a Houston club called Cardi's in their early years (separate shows). Here is a stub ($3) and photo (from their previous visit in 1981) of U2 at Cardi's.

How funny. Isn’t it funny how some tastes remain for a long time, but we start to like things we dismissed or didn’t care for at all? I’m continually discovering NEW and OLD things.

Two more:
Iva Davies of Icehouse. Loved his unique voice.

I want to see the Casablanca remake from the 1950s starring Bill Haley and Elvis Presley.

With the computer CGI (I think that’s what it’s called) technology, anything’s possible. Haley as Rick, and the other guy, Priestley (is that his name?) as the fool Victor Laszlo?

Thomas Dolby still has the "Mad Scientist" look about him. "Golden Age of Wireless" still one of my favorite 80s albums.....Love "Airwaves."

A friend and I drove in to NYC from eastern LI not sure of what we were going to do . We stopped off at the place of my bud’s bro who was a student at Parson’s School Of Design . He told us about the U2 gig , which turned out to be their first in in the USA ! :-)

The only one to compare for sheer intensity would be Tori Amos, but that’s a whole ‘nother mindset, skewed, damaged and painful but still beautiful. I tend to equate the two, like light and dark, flipsides of a coin.
