Paul Walker Died Within Seconds of Crash, Coroner Rules [going at least 90 mph where limit was 45]
yahoo.com ^ | December 4, 2013 | MICHAEL ROTHMAN

Posted on 12/04/2013 5:42:43 PM PST by grundle

Sheriff's detective Jeff Maag told People magazine the driver "was doing well over 45 [mph] – [it's] fair to say at least twice that."

That means Maag believes Rodas was going at least 90 mph on a street where the limit was just 45.

The original stories said he was a passenger. Has that story changed?

Walker wasn’t “even” driving, you got that?! And the posters who dissed you know for certain that he disapproved of the driver driving over the speed limit, clear?!

while everyone chimes in on how stupid he was for going at least 90 mph in a 45 - who here hasn’t done the same thing

I haven't and never would.

When you've see the results of what happens when stupid people do really stupid, very dangerous things like that, ya have a tendency not to forget it.

Here's the pole they hit:

... 'course that was in 2011, but I doubt they raised it since then. News has a life of its own.

Yes, he was a passenger.

I checked the first two stories that came up when I Googled his name; neither mentioned the fact that he was not alone in the car and was not the driver.

When people started to post messages to the effect that he was a passenger, I searched some more. I found information confirming that he was not driving the car on TMZ.

I’m sorry I didn’t check further sooner.

Suggested title for movie about Toronto Mayor Rob Ford:
The Fat and the Furious.

‘Twas sad what happened to Walker and his friend, but this is what happens when you go absurdly fast. To paraphrase a song by Joe Walsh (Life’s Been Good to Me So Far), My Maserati goes 185. I died in a car crash,
now I can’t drive...

you're right - it's a shame when anyone dies...some here have trouble with that

That said - his passing is no different than anyone's death and why this guy had notoriety at all over some GI speaks to our culture

That’s true. I am amazed my brother is alive too. He has probably broken every bone in his body more than once doing stupid stuff. Like the time he drove a go cart into an empty swimming pool. He survived; but the go cart didn’t.

They say he also died from burns and there is a video of the end as well.

Some "they"s say it was a drone strike.

Please do feel free to ignore what the coroner who actually examined the body says, in preference to what someone's aunt Martha said after catching part of a low resolution version the video on the interwebs via her smart phone.
