An Oklahoma teen’s parents are accusing police in Houston of racial profiling after the girl and her companions for a dance event were stopped by authorities and she was taken to child protective services.
According to KHOU-TV, the incident happened Sunday when 13-year-old Landry Thompson from Tulsa, Okla., was in Houston to film a hip-hop dance video. Thomson was accompanied by her dance instructor, 29-year-old Emmanuel Hurd, and her dance partner, 22-year-old Josiah Kelly. Thompson is white and the two men are black.

It’s times like this (the current society) that make me want to pack up and move to a log cabin 1000s of miles away from anyone else... haven’t used my TV in a decade (don’t even think it works with the new ‘cable’ system.. I believe it changed from analog to digital.. or something along those lines... Get the news and tv I deem ‘safe’ from the net now.

We don’t need more government intruding into our families. If something is illegal and there is a crime being committed - charge them and throw them in jail. Otherwise government should STAY OUT of families!

It does not matter what color the “instructors” are. No father would let his 13 year old daughter be in the company of two grown men on a trip which requires and overnight stay and much less an UNCHAPERONED one. Good grief! And Hip Hop...?
And MY answer to my daughter who may have questioned my objection to such a trip would have been “What part of NO do you not understand?”

The minor, is a very HARD 13 yo. By that I mean that she is NOT stupid, she has some street smarts.
The “Black Men” do not at all look nefarious.
Keep in mind that it seems that they are all from Tulsa, not Houston.
There used to be laws against traveling across state lines with a minor.
