****
He also tweeted about the wreck, along with a picture of himself next to the vehicle.

“If he hadn’t gone, nobody would have been the wiser.”
Oh somebody would have given him a hard time. I saw something (maybe here, not sure) bemoaning the fact that Bloomberg didn’t put in an appearance there.
This reminds me of my uncle, whom I thought of just recently with the “fight with your family about Obamacare over Thanksgiving dinner” advice that was given out by our benevolent leaders recently.
There was a terrible plane crash off Long Island, the labor day weekend (maybe) when Clinton was running for re-election. Clinton shows up, George Pataki (gov. of NY) shows up, Rudy Giuliani (mayor of NYC) shows up.
A lot of people said Clinton was just looking for a photo op. Pataki arguably had the greatest reason/responsibility to be there. And Giuliani, I don’t remember the reaction, but everybody was kind of loving him at that point.
I kind of thought it was OK that any/all of them went. People like to think their leaders care about them, and what’s the harm?
Later that year I discussed this with my yellow dog dem uncle. Oh, he derided Giuliani and Pataki for going. And then, as I was actually going to defend Clinton for going, Uncle says to me, in the most gushing teenage fan girl way “Wasn’t he wonderful?”
I almost literally fell out of my chair.
At that point I realized my uncle was a lost cause, politically.
But, as I said re: the Obamacare thing, I still love my uncle, may he RIP.
- because they are jerks .. this is their so-called life
See, what the media are telling us is this: if these people had been let into the White House, they would be doing good deeds and rubbing our noses in it. That would be just plain awful when compared to the current situation, I’m sure all will agree.
She was supposed to be the reluctant ‘candidate’s wife’ during both Mitt’s presidential runs.
I expect Josh is gearing up for a campaign in Utah, however. She’s probably both segueing into the ‘candidate’s mom’ role—and finding it harder to quit the limelight than she had imagined.
Years ago, my cousin apparently fell asleep driving home after visiting his mother. His car ran off the road and hit a culvert. He was knocked unconcious and the car eventually caught fire and he died. When they investigated the fire, they found that he had been robbed of his wallet and phone along with some other items that he had put in his car at his mothers house. They never found the thief (obviously not anyone reared by Mitt Romney) but they concluded that the thief was a passerby who stopped and took advantage of my cousins situation and then left him sitting in the vehicle.
You should stop polluting your mind with communist trash like Mother Jones.
Are you a committed leftist?
He saved more people in one car accident than Stompfoot saved in Benghazi.
Are you serious?
Did you read the article?
Jeesh!
“Ann Romney has run for office before (herself as a candidate), she knows campaigning.”
No she hasn’t. You’re probably thinking of Mitt Romney’s mother, who did run for office. Ann Romney hasn’t run for any office.
Corey Booker did similar deeds, while also tweeting out his heroics.
Had the press bothered to reveal sooner that he was doing so by listening to a scanner and finding hero photo ops for himself, he might not be a US Senator today.
Good to see a Romney FINALLY doing something good instead
of imposing statism, nannystate, or attacking conservatives.
Not much of a story one way or the other. But I do find it interesting in how it reflects a certain generational/cultural change. That is, what Romney did seems undoubtedly innocuous to folks his age. To me, taking a photo of myself at such a scene would never even remotely occur to me. Such a thought would strike me as rather weird. Going further, no way on earth would my parents and their generational peers think to do something like this, as they’d assuredly view it as a rather tacky and self-absorbed thing to do.
Like I said, interesting as a reflection of how the culture has changed.
Re “Romney’s son criticized for tweet after crash”
It is worthy of note that the title is deceptive by omission; since, the last line of this short article says, The Tribune reports that reactions on Twitter to Romney’s tweet ranged from praise to criticism for posing for a photograph at an accident scene.
Obviously, the editors rigged the title and the article to accentuate only the negative about Josh Romney, knowing many people will remember the title without even bothering to read the article to the end; OR, click the embedded link to see the actual Tweet.
The author also engaged in apparent deliberate deceptive journalism by not reporting Josh’s complete Tweet; which, was: Was first on scene to big accident, see pic of car in the house. I lifted 4 people out to safety. All . Thankful.
In other words, he was not bragging so much as expressing thanks that everyone was OK. The details were honest and explained what he was thankful for.
This is just one more example of how the media gets you to think what THEY want you to think...
Has nothing to do with lib media.
Dude does great thing. Then really does the gay thing of posing and posting the after action deed on twitter.
***
You nailed it.
At least he wasn’t at a memorial like the Wellstone. /sarc
Slow news day?
Not just safer, but LEGALLY SMARTER. Josh is about to hear from a personal injury attorney who will claim his actions caused irreparable harm to his clients by Romney's failure to contact emergency services to properly extricate them from the scene using neck restraints. Their neck braces and not very convincing moans of pain at the first meeting will be the first step on the way to the Romney Family paying out a multi-million dollar settlement for fear of the case landing before a minority jury.
It’s a mormonic thing to do a good deed and then send out a press release to get the approval of men. He has his reward.
