Sorry about my Sunday vanity rant. I was just ready a few articles about the "re-launch" and I can't seem to figure out why "our side" doesn't engage in the language war being waged.

Because the “Establishment GOP”, the guys who define the GOP message for the talking heads, want the same government involvement in health care.

THERE IS NOT A DIME’S WORTH OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEMOCRATIC AND GOP ESTABLISHMENT.

above: “reading a few articles”. Sorry.

I’ve had insurance since I was 18 in the military. Currently, I’m on my employer’s “cheap” plan which means $1000 co pay (instead of $500) and 3,000 yearly max per person/6,000 per family (instead of 1.5/3k)

25$ co pays to see doctor, $35 for specialist and $20/$10 Brand/Generic for prescriptions.

My share of the cost for me, my wife, and 5 dependents is $260/month, although my employer has said that next years rates are coming out this week and they needed to warn us ahead of time that it’ll be steep.

My point is that even if I considered Obamacare’s Gold Plan, that would be vastly substandard insurance for me (and the price point for unsubsidized me is 500% higher, I looked). I bet the same could be said for most people with a history of buying health insurance products.

The GOP ought to be able to point out comparable policies to highlight the fact that Obamacare is, in fact, the substandard insurance product. It just seems to me that THIS is the way to argue against this substandard government plan.

As many people have noticed the deductibles on these plans are huge compared to most normal comprehensive plans and are applied to primary and emergency care, as well. What many don't realize is that there is another set of subsidies for those below 275% of the poverty level that subsidize deductibles and co-pays. This will make ACA affordable for some lower middle class while breaking the back of the upper middle class.

This is all about building a solid majority that will always pull the lever for the democrats. They reinforce this strategy by keeping their campaign apparatus going through the liberal use of ACA grants.

Short answer: the only thing more stupid than a Democrat politician, is a Republican politician.

Obamacare, of course, has nothing to do with health care. The number one goal is redistribution of income. Goal number two is enhancing the power of the Democrat crime machine. Hence the subsidies, automatic Medicaid signup, and irrational sweetners aimed a specific special interest groups. The Republicans have done nothing to counter these features which represent poison pills to the majority of voters. I suspect that is because most Republicans are profoundly ignorant of the details of the law. They scream and shout “Repeal”, but do nothing to destroy this thing piece by worthless piece.

Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chair Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.):

"President Obama has offered no solutions to help the millions of American families who are losing the good health care plans that they liked," Scalise said. "This hollow press conference was like a person who burned down your house, later showing up with an empty bucket and talking about how inadequate your house was before the fire. President Obama blatantly misled the American people when he kept promising they could keep plans they liked even though he and his Administration knew three years ago that millions would lose their health care under this law. It is time for President Obama to admit his broken health care law has failed, and join with House Republicans to suspend the penalties and stop this train wreck before it's too late."

“Why aren’t the GOP challenging this? “

“Shouldn’t they be out there using the meme that, in fact, Obamacare is Substandard Insurance.”

___________________________________________________________
The GOP leaders need to stand in front of the steps of the Capitol Bdg and state what THEIR plan(s) are for healthcare and say it convincingly.

Tax-free Health Savings Accounts, Tort Reform, the ability to sell insurance policies across state lines etc.

Just saying Obamacare sucks (which it does) is not going to cut it.

Here’s the deal.

They forced everyone to buy it because “we all use it (not true)” and “there are people who want it and can’t get it. (also not true).

The ones who had it had smaller deductibles and better coverage.

Now they shove a ton of uninsurables or high cost insurables with certain pre-existing conditions not covered, into the mix, and they have to raise the others’ plans. Changing the plans forces people to have to get a different plan as theirs probably now doesn’t comply with obamacare regs (like birth control pills for men being covered).

This is basically exactly the subprime mortgage lending mess with housing, just now it’s healthcare.

You will lend to high risk clients, and the risk will be passed onto others to bail it out, higher mortgage rates for the fiscally sound, a crappy housing market, poorer home sale rates from a deflated market (worse service for people who didn’t do anything wrong), big negative changes for those who didn’t default (ARMs adjust way up). Higher percentages down to get the loan (higher deductibles).

Because the GOPe’s just the lib-dems’ “away jersey”; the flip side of the same coin. There’s no discernible difference between them, anymore, with a few exceptions in the House & Senate, and everywhere else in Gov’t & Courts.

All need to be “removed”, with the few exceptions kept, and all spots filled with Citizen Legislators, vetted, term-limited and loyal to our fast-fading Constitutional Republic. Line the rest against a stone wall, and execute them.

You are right I think of it this way.

The Democrats defecate, and the Republicans eat it.
