In the summer of 2008, Dallas County commissioners discussing traffic ticket collections were jolted when Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, used the term back hole to describe the recurring problem of lost paperwork.
Mayfields statement was immediately challenged by Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black. Price belted out a loud Excuse me! and proceeded to upbraid Mayfield by saying that the problem of lost paperwork was the unwelcome byproduct of a white hole.
That caused Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.
This dust up provided a keen insight to the precarious state of race relations in America and the obvious need for change.
Those who believe in fairy tales thought that Barack Obama, although the least qualified candidate for the presidency in decades, would bring healing to America in the area of race relations.
Unfortunately, Obamas post-racial America is not even close to being reality, partially because of missteps by Obama himself.
It was he who accused a white police officer of acting stupidly for arresting a black man who appeared to be involved in a crime.
In addition, the Obama administrations refusal to prosecute New Black Panther members for voter intimidation during the 2008 election serves to deepen the wounds of racial unrest and distrust.
Clearly, when it comes to race relations, Barack Obama is no healer nor even a reasonable voice. He would do well to heed the counsel of black entertainer Bill Cosby by keeping his mouth shut.
What to do, then, about the day after Thanksgiving? Traditionally, that day heralds the start of the Christmas shopping season, and is known far and wide as black Friday.
Is that a racist term?
What of black sheep, black clouds, black box, black humor, black Monday, black magic, and black helicopters?
Indian summers, Mexican stand-offs, and white washes?
All to be stricken from the vocabulary of those who practice PC speech for fear of being of being regarded as racist?
I say to heck with it all.
Let the whiners and weasels debate the issue all they want.
Just dont get in my way when I have that $500 46″ HDTV in my sights on Black Friday, mate! - See more at: http://blackquillandink.com/?page_id=9919#sthash.rwaV4Gmr.dpuf
Way back in the 1970s, the colored people got all sulled up about wishing everyone a white Christmas, so they made the news by wishing everyone a BLACK Christmas.
The news media at the time ate it up.
Maybe we should just call it “Talo blue + burnt umber” Friday.
Maybe a Payne’s Grey Friday.
Any use of the words, black” or “dark” or “dusky,” etc. by white people, including White Hispanics, is necessarily and reprehensibly RACIST!
Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black. Price belted out a loud Excuse me!
Man I hate that expression: `Excuuuuuuse me!’ Not just race-whining, but it’s maximum gay.
I told this story on another thread but believe it worth repeating. My daughter had to work last night so I was at the mall visiting with her about this time. This was in Macys btw, not Walmart.
So I go to menswear briefly, and there’s a group of Mexican young men, jabbering in Spanish, raised voices—one was drunk and practically shouting.
`America’s Home Town’, just under Canada, not just across the southwestern border.
People were avoiding them. It was like being in the stalls at Tijuana. I walked through them.
Of course no one would say, “Excuuuse me, would you boys mind getting the h*** out of this store and our country?”
If this is “diversity”—and being tolerant is going to earn us more: “Hey ju, the term “brown-out” is racist, gringo! —then I’ll fight it for the rest of my life.
{No more than the cleveland browns or the yellow river or the song mellow yellow}
Gave a guy a black eye once. Racist? WTF do I know...
My racist t-shirt...

.
mine are mostly yellow
But wait, isn’t ‘Friday’, the name of Robinson Crusoe’s African-American servant, rassiss to begin with?
These idiots have NO idea what a black hole IS, yet their ilk never tires of excoriating conservatives for allegedly being scientifically illiterate. DISGUSTING!
“it will display red if it is negative,”
AHA! Reflecting an irrational, xenophobic McCarthyite fear of Communism!!! /sarcasm;)
Little tip for Joy Behar: When Whoopi Goldberg is the voice of reason, you’re out of line.
Why yes ... Yes it is so is Cat food , Peanut butter and jelly Sammiches and Yellow Jelly Beans BUT who's keeping track ?
EVERYTHING is racist if America’s race pimps say it is.
Soon, only “Blacks” will be able to use the “B” word. How apropos...
“Black Friday” is fine, but not inclusive enough. So, to be fair, we need to add a “Hispanic Friday”, a “Native American Friday”, an “LGBT Friday”, an “Asian Friday”, and a “Muslim Friday”.
Agree 100%.
Funniest ever.
Stupidity isn’t in short supply in Rakim’s home.
