I don’t get the deal with pop performances at football halftime. I’m either at the game or watching on TV to see the game. If I want to go to a concert, and I do like to, then I will go to a concert. Halftime is too short to put on a meaningful show. But that’s jus me showing my grumpy old age I guess.

These Thanksgiving Halftime shows seem almost like a super bowl halftime show in length.

It’s for people who don’t really like football, but are forced to watch it because everyone else in the room are football fans.

It’s advertising. One of the best weeks of sales Michael Jackson ever had was right after his super bowl performance. They put them on during these games to make them more of an event, little something to watch if you don’t get up during half time, and that audience gives a big bump for the pop star.
