Even in the 1800's...we'd give them farming materials and they would hire white men to do the work.

I had a friend visit Alaska....What do you do for work?? He asked...fish....fish and hunt...

My friend said there was a pile of government checks on the table. Apparently the guy cashes them at his leisure when he needs a new jeep or a snowmobile. They lived in a shack....very slovenly.

Well if they wanted to live in humble shacks that’s their business. Being grateful to God for what you have is part of wisdom. I hear very little about American Indian spiritual ideas today... other than that I know some have adopted Christian faith, and that others affirm the closest thing their perception could come to an omnipresent, omnipotent God, their “Great Spirit,” in what might be a genuine private revelation for all I know.

It’s funky that Cher wants to throw a monkey wrench into thanksgiving by highlighting ingratitude. It’s like the devil, which is a devil in anybody’s world, is grabbing for the glory.

And at least fishing and hunting is SOME kind of work. Ask any redneck... they know it as well as the redskins do.
