That’s right. The victim of any story must belong to an officially recognized grievance group, such as homosexuals or blacks. If the victim does not belong to such a group, then there is no story.
Trayvon Martin is a good example of this. If the race/ethnicity of Zimmerman and Trayvon had been reversed, and a black man was accused of shooting a “white Hispanic” who had been attacking him, that story would never have been on the national news. I think we all know why that story became such big national news.
