Now, if some enterprising conservative will just collect and publicize what must be the thousands and thousands of individual cases of Stage IV Cancer patients who, in their daily attempt to be positive, focused, and courageous in battling their disease, now have felt the heavy-handed knock-out punch in the stomach dealt to them by each Democrat who, in mass, in 2010, derided and voted AGAINST the Republican bill which anticipated and would have prevented the policy cancellations which now have spoiled those patients' Thanksgiving and Christmas Season joys with family and friends!
The Democrats' deceit and 3-year knowledge of the individual pain and suffering which was going to come to those patients should haunt those Democrat legislators as long as they live!!
Every Democrat running for office should be confronted daily, wherever they go, with facts about real human beings who are being sucker punched daily by their "follow-the-leader" mentality in voting for Obamacare and in refusing to acknowledge the rules which have now doomed their fellow citizens to a tougher fight this Holiday Season.

I think that a whole lot of people have already found out that they can’t keep their doctors and/or their health plans, and that health insurance has gotten much more expensive (or unavailable) for them.
Especially if they already know that you’ve always been against obama and obamacare, listen to their stories with love and compassion, not with gloating. And try to help them if you can.
Maybe they’ll end up voting for Ted Cruz next time!
Could someone give me particulars on the tax for selling house? We are in the process of selling, but likely won’t close until after first of year.

It's actually one of the first bits of bad news that was discovered in the Obamacare bill. It was talked about extensively here, a couple of years ago.

Not that the ACA isn’t a tax grab... but that statement is misinformation.
In general, you’ll owe Medicare tax on many sources of so-called “unearned income” that previously incurred no such “medicare” tax. That includes dividend income, interest income, and capital gains income.
However, it only kicks in at adjusted gross income (AGI) of $200K ($250K for married couples).
Furthermore, if your property is your primary residence, gains from the sale of your primary residence is exempt from capital gains tax (as well as this extra 3.8%) up to $250,000 GAIN for singles (or $500,000 gain for married couples).
Note that in any event, the 3.8% tax could only possibly apply to GAINS from sale — not the gross “sale price of your home”, as stated in the misinformation.

Thanks, NT. It's been a long time since I read the details of that Obamacare tax on real estate transactions. I did try to qualify my statement with, "I believe..." I should have just said that I didn't remember the exact details.
