That is who I wanted when we got Muschamp, lol!
I withhold further commentary, so as not to bring forth any bad ju-ju that may jeopardize any hope for our future : o
If you go to their fan boards they think they are jobbed every week.
Since "the pick", Oregon's fan base has been hyper energized as any in the conference and the program has brought home the bacon but holy cow that has been 20 years already. I am certainly not ready to write them off as heading in to a decline or some such but can face the fact their performance this year against other ranked teams has been sub-par and if not for a weak schedule it might have been worse. For now, Oregon State is a must win and beyond that we'll just have to wait and see.
Received this this morning.

Do you think we should send it to Jeremy ;/
The link says Georgia, but of course, we know better : \
Here's a link to a pretty good Gators blog, and also clips from Boom's presser on Monday. Reading, and watching..he sounds like he's totally lost, hasn't a clue, and has just about given up. He's talking about "why UF is a great place to go to school, how the top recruits still want to come here."
Latest recruiting class ranking has Gators at #15...with NOT ONE 5 star recruit committed.
Rivalry week is HUGE for recruiting..schools invite their top prospects to the game. So this week, we're playing FSU in the Swamp...that's really gonna motivate recruits to wanna sign with UF, right. Wonder how many will walk across the field to ask Jimbo if he has a slot for them?
This game will be UGLY...in so many ways? And I suspect you'll see a lot of decommittments from UF after the game.
A LOT of long time season ticket holders are selling their tickets as well.
The student section on Saturday was pretty empty. It’s only going to get worse.
The Swamp is going to look like “Doak Campbell South.”
Foley was told by the powers that be to support Muschamp..that Muschamp stays for next season. Why? Well, if Boom succeeds in turning it around, that's great. If he doesn't, we get a new coach, but Foley will NOT be the one to make the hire. He'll be gone also....
Given Foley's track record..Zook..it makes sense...
True. I think Foley screwed the pooch when he extended his buyout.
It was ridiculous to make such a commitment to an unproven coach after only two years.
I tend to agree that firing him now, might not allow UF to deal from a position of strength when it comes to finding a new coach, especially if Foley is still the guy....This way, if Champ goes, Foley goes as well.
My head understands and agrees, but Lord, my heart is none too happy with the boat we are in.
Still tho’, the girl in me keeps asking - why we can’t can ‘em both now ;)
1. The buy out's pretty big....no one would be happy with that.
2. If you can them both now..you first have to hire an AD..that's gonna take time..and then the new AD hires the coach..and by that time...most of the good candidates will have already been taken.
Thus you'd have to settle for someone who's probably worse than Boom...
Also, recruiting would have collapsed by then..the top prospects, even if inclined towards UF, don't want to come into a totally chaotic scene..every other coach will be pointing that out to them.
Boom will stay, but he's doomed to failure, and firing, next season..he doesn't have the skill set to turn it around, find an offense..and he won't be able to recruit either for 2015..it's the best option of a lousy choice.
Also, about those reports that he has to replace a lo of his staff. That won't be easy, because they'll know that he's likely a goner..so why come here for a one year gig...because the NEXT coach has to be allowed to pick his own staff.
Sad to say...Gators are likely 3-4 years away from returning to the top ten ranking..they're looking at 4-5 conference losses each season for the near future...plus getting clobbered by FSU and Miami for several more years.
They lack a QB for next year, and likey the year after.. Next coach will demand a 4-5 year contract..and look for him to lower expectations early on..tell the fans it's gonna take time.
Nope...they'll start looking for an AD immediately..hopefully one who has some contact with Chris Peterson..
Yep, we are the new Tennessee.
Things have to happen behind the scenes over the next year....have a plan in place, line things up if Muschamp fails (as he inevitably will), and yes if Muschamp goes, so does Foley. So you have to start contacting potential AD’s now, and getting contingencies in place.
Thanks for walking me through the ramifications ken5050. DH thanks you as well ;)
And dfwgator - Oh my. That, is The Painful Truth.
*The only upside I see at the moment - is that it does help me understand Tennessee a little better now ;)
GoGators.
