Teen pleads guilty, gets life plus 20 years in volleyball player's slaying

A teenager pled guilty today to the August 2012 slaying of a Wheaton volleyball standout in St. Louis and was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years, prosecutors said.
Keith Esters, 19, pled guilty to second-degree murder in the killing Aug. 18 2012 of Megan Boken, 23, in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis.
St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Steve Ohmer sentenced Eseters to life in prison--under Missouri law, 30 years in prison, of which Esters will have to serve at least 85 percent--plus another 20 years.

Tonight on the news when they showed this story, the only pics shown were of the white victim.
I wondered if the reason the murderer wasn’t shown was because he was of a different race than the victim. I didn’t know what race he was until I just googled his name.

I’m amazed at the discrepancy in sentences around the country...we had a woman killed viciously,lived long enough to describe the perp and the perp had attempted attacks before and subsequent to this killing...he’s getting a whole whopping 10 yrs and probably be out in 7 (plea bargain...and also an AA.)

I want to say these young women who participate in athletics really are high achievers from my stand point...they seem to do well in school and then in life...so America has lost another good young person while the ferals flourish...

There is no justice, not in this world anyway. The point lingering behind the scene is that if you take a life, you have no more right to your own. So for every cold-blooded murderer tried and convicted, there should be a death sentence. That’s not vengence, it’s leaving justice up to God, not man. But in today’s society, the tax payer just becomes another victim.
