Mark Wahlberg plays a Navy Seal on a mission in Afghanistan for his latest film, "Lone Survivor," but the actor made it abundantly clear that what he did to prepare for his role was nothing compared to what a real soldier faces.
During a Q&A after the Tuesday screening of the film about the real-life 2005 Navy Seal mission to capture or kill a notorious Taliban leader, Wahlberg, who's famous for his bluntness, went off on a five-minute rant when asked about his rigorous training for the shoot.

I appreciate his comments, but ain't it a hoot that these actors make their $$$ with shoot’em / blow’em up flicks then come out against the very thing they glorify?

As with 99% of what the freakin media spews, this too was a falsehood. Tom Cruise never ever said that.
I will watch and see if his lawyers go after the morons that put out this falsehood. They took what he said and omitted words to give the impression he thinks this way. I’m sick to death of ALL media. They all suck.
IIRC, he’s playing Marcus Lattrell in the Lone Survivor movie coming out in a few months. That may have influenced his prior thought process.
Taken out of context by TMZ in a divorce deposition. Cruise’s reply to the lawyer was actually near opposite of what’e alleged in the headline.
Not to say he’s not loony, just that this isn’t true to their allegation if you read the court transcript.(and it sounds like you have)
The majority of the mountain scenes were filmed about 9-10 miles from my house. Beautiful country.

Reminds me of when I was in the US Navy back in the Seventies, and some toilet door artist wrote “B.O.C” on the inside of the door.
Some other guy came in after the fact and wrote “Brothers Of Communism” (with the letters of each word descending under each top letter.)
Our division heads had to have a talk with the sailors under them to discuss subversive organizations...:)

Our dead beat media is insane, going after a non-story to keep stupid people chattering about damn stupid stuff, instead of putting even an ounce of energy and effort into the real horrors happening all around. Sorry, I just get so dang worked up over this crap.
Hahahahah...funny, how with the passage of time, Brothers of Communism would be perfectly acceptable, while Brothers of Conservatism is now the subversive one!
