IIRC, the Tiger was a single carburetor 650cc in a mild state of tune compared to the Bonnie. Dunno what the 500cc single carb bike was called. Rode one once, very weak.
Tiger was said to be torquey and docile. I had one that had been stripped down to be a "desert sled". Got stolen before I could do anything with it. Not street legal anyway.

Rode friends '64 Bonneville all through college 'cause my Harley was a piece of junk that was impossible to start and broke down daily. Triumph's have been my first love ever since. In current stable: '71 Trophy 500 T100C, unrestored, 6k miles, looks great since I cleaned it up after 20 years in unheated garage; '72 Bonneville T100V 650cc totally restored by moi, looks brand new and runs like new too; '73 Trident T150V, 3 cyl. 750cc (who needs a sport bike?), all start on first kick. 100mph on Trident is like half throttle.....

British bikes are bikes we have a love hate relationship with.
Still kicking myself for not buying a restored Matchless with side car ages a go for like $1,200.

Years ago when the neighborhood dogs (7 total) would start to irritate me I would fire up the old ‘68 “TR6R” with bobber frame and drag pipes. It was the loudest thing I’ve ever heard in my life and must have scared the daylights out of the dogs, never heard a whimper from them for a couple hours, LOL.

Gosh, this means there’s still hope I might get my 51 Buick Special that went AWOL in 1968 back!
