It can be like a bad high school
Or a lot of fun
You settle in and get loyal to and courteous to and protective of 50-100 folks you know something about or their traits and they reciprocate
And you get foes....
The forum while smarter than general public sadly has plenty heartfelt yet ignorant posting.....which means by comparison low info America is pathetic knowledge wise
What is acceptable here is mercurial and has metamorphazised over the past 16 years....it can be hard to follow
I imagine for the founders its like herding cats at times
And yes....the cat crap and lust for public Jennings is pure Jacobin and childish
But....its the most comprehensive clearinghouse for like minded folks there is
There are a few places more high brow and diligent...but less fun
Most posters here truly think they are pure constitutionalists
But really we are prolly more SoCon than anything....I sure am

Lesliecortner, I think you are short hanging yourself. FR is so huge that is takes more than a few short weeks to explore all the nooks and crannies. I’ve found a group of people who will lift me up when I’m down even though we’ve never met in real time.
I’ve found people who will discuss serious issues. There are so,e brilliant Constitutional scholars on FR and a bunch of knuckleheads and a few who belong in the 2nd category but believe they are in the first.
I’ve found I can ask questions from honest ignorance and get sincere analytical and knowledgeable feedback. And if I blow smoke, somebody’s going to call me on it.
FR is the site that exposed the faked documents about former President Bush. A FReeper named Buckhead just happened to have courtroom expertise on font types and recognized the fakes were written in a font that was created years after the supposed date of the documents. I think I still have a link to that thread. Buckhead nailed it literally within a couple minutes of the broadcast about Bush.
The Challenger disaster was first identified as such right here, before NASA knew it.
But there are many nooks within FR that are raucous and some are downright unpleasant.
There are also the enjoyable moments when a DU troll is caught in the hallowed halls and the kitties are loosed on them.
I don’t see how you can have a good feel for the potential in FR in such a short timeframe. Do yourself a favor and explore some more. Find a Constitutional ping list. If there isn’t one, please start one. Then you will be notified when a good discussion on the COTUS starts.
Sorry but you do not have the tenure required to write an Opus. Just leave quietly.

Kinda sounds like my younger years lovelife, they would say the same thing, essentially without saying it I was of the type of person who wasn’t submissive enough, rich enough or possibly even good enough at sex, or their definition of sex.
Later on I wizened up and avoid these women like the plague, now I am lets just say “better off” and they want to partner up for the benefits, and then I remember these same type of women snubbed me when I was younger.
