Marvel is creating four live-action superhero series and an Avengers-style special event that will all air exclusively on Netflix, beginning in 2015. The first of the TV series will focus on Daredevil, while the following series will star Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. At least 13 episodes of each series will be produced, and like all good Marvel series they'll eventually come together for a special event. For Netflix, that event will be a mini-series called The Defenders, though there's no word on just how long it'll run.
"This serialized epic expands the narrative possibilities of on-demand television and gives fans the flexibility to immerse themselves how and when they want in what's sure to be a thrilling and engaging adventure," Alan Fine, president of Marvel Entertainment, says in a statement. The series will all be set in Hell's Kitchen, New York, and will unfold over several years. Their world is said to be a gritty one as well, though Marvel's series have largely straddled the line between realistic worlds and comic book-style fun.

LEGO video game(s), here we come!
Power Man and Iron Fist, Heroes for Hire should be an EASY series to do. We’ve already seen a dozen or more non-super hero shows with same premise (good cop / bad cop) be very successful.
Daredevil has to be done right - he’s dark. He needs to be done right or it’ll come off as campy (like the movie was).
Lots of potential there though. Can’t wait!
Agree about Daredevil...was one of my favorite characters in the comic books but they just didn’t “get it” in the movie.

Omg, Daredevil and a Power Man/Iron Fist series? I was debating getting NetFlix just to watch Arrested Development, but now I think I am sold.
Sweet Christmas!
Sure, but in case you missed it, 70s retro is cool again.
It’s significant that Disney, owner of Marvel, ABC and a host of cable channels opted to bring this project to NETFLIX.
There is a really good superhero show on Netflix I am binging on now called Arrow. (The Green Arrow).
Hmmm...wondering if they're considering a purchase. I've had and loved Netflix for years. Hope they don't screw it up.
The Green Lantern used to be cool. Now he’s a jock-sniffer.
In fact almost all of the League of Superheroes suck now.
What’s going on over at DC comics? Fluoridation?
Sorry, I can’t get into DC stuff, except for Batman. The rest of their heroes just seem lame.
‘Arrow’ rocks.
To each his own. I’m too old to argue about comic book characters.... unless I’m drinkin’ :)
I wasn’t looking for an argument...just pointing out a comic-oriented show that people in general might enjoy... :-)
