For 2 year old you could start a silver dollar coin collection: Nice Morgans are $23.

My grandaughter is getting a Henry .22 lever gun to carry on her horse. She’ll be 7 (months) at Christmas.

I just give my grad kids a hundred dollar bill.

Are those still worth anything?

A puppy!!!

I’m sure Mom will like it almost as much as the kid. Trust me...

Basset Hounds are slow and lazy.
A two year old needs a young, frenetic, bundle of energy to entertain them.

Never followed the “hot” toys but always made sure the kids have blocks and a camera. They have some digital cameras made specifically for kids and are pretty sturdy...

Three good rules:

1.) Does not need batteries.
2.) Does not make obnoxious sounds.
3.) Made in USA.

And yes, I’d support an easy-bake oven with racing stripes too.

Does it come with the environmentally friendly (well, except for the mercury) compact fluorescent light?

Well, a baby brother hits on 1 & 3, and two out of three ain't bad.

A really soft cuddly stuffed animal or a small baby doll. Perfect for a 2yr old little girl.

A 2 y/o will play with the box more. So almost doesn’t matter what’s inside.

:-)

When do we start saying it?

” They have some digital cameras made specifically for kids and are pretty sturdy...”

Good idea. I got my grandson a digital camera to take pictures at his aunts wedding. They came out very entertaining. There was a lot of footage of a very pretty little girl!

A Meghan McCain blow up doll?

If you do that, better get the kid an air compressor to inflate it too.

Building blocks. Make then yourself from 2x3’s. Sand them down so they are kid friendly. Make 3 or 4 different sizes, put them in a rubbermaid tote box. Seriously. Let the kid use her imagination and make all kinds of things with them.

I had tons of toys as a kid, those were the best.
