Last night, I accompanied my wife to a Republican womans meeting where the guest speaker was one of three Repubs running in the primary for MD governor.
First thing - when he took questions, I asked him that lets say he won the primary and his Dem opponent charges that he wants to turn back the clock on the rights for women, take away abortion, the choice of divorce, etc. How does he answer that charge? Well, I got a basic non-answer, such as I listen and people can look at my record, etc. Bloviating BS. I did not press the issue as I am a non-voting member and did not want to make my wife uncomfortable.
Second thing - one women asks the question how do we - Republicans - get extremists such as Tea Party people and Libertarians to vote for Republicans. So - since I have been to a couple Tea Party rallies and support what the Tea Party is doing - I am now an extremist.
Last thing - the same woman who asked that question at the end of the meeting stated that everyone should opppose Common Core. I wondered last night that a moderate Republican - Jeb Bush - is the main Republican pushing that piece of crap.
Basically, this is a vent post. I am thinking of contacting this woman via the leadership and letting her know the real deal.
Thank you. That is a good answer and one I will use in the future.
I come from a long line of conservative non-conformists and extremists. It is a badge of honor.
That is great!!!!!!!
. . . and I simply don't give a damn for the opinion of appeasing cowards.
You should put some arms on that.
It'd be gratifying to see it catch on as a bumper sticker, or militia unit patch, etc.
But most importantly as a talisman of adhering to the mindset of 'a million tiny cuts per day'.
Any patriot resistor, anyone in conscientious oppostion to the usurping halfbreed vermin squatting in OUR White House, may feel free to adapt it to their own needs !
That is a really sad commentary on women in this country. I am afraid that the Republican men aren’t much better.
In my county, the Republican men are putting union jobs at a coal terminal (all forty of them) above the property rights of the people who live nearest the terminal. The Republican men are working with the storm water regulators against the private property owners in the area, the same storm water regulators that they are fighting in other parts of the county, all for the sake of the unions.
Ideas, beliefs and attitudes that were in the very mainstream of American life, not for a few years but for most of our history are now held to be "extreme", while those of the extreme Left have been redefined as "mainstream".
It is up to conservatives to explain the true narrative of what Progressives have done to our political discourse and to our nation, by calling them out on their lies and deceptions.
We do not all need to agree on tactics or strategy. But we must find a way to come together on shared common principles to reclaim our birthrights, before they vanish forever.
