Word For The Day, Monday, 11/4/13
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
phatic; adj.
Origin: 1923; probably < Greek phat ( ós ) spoken, capable of being spoken (verbid of phánai to speak; cf. prophet) + -ic; coined (in phrase phatic communion ) by Bronislaw Malinowski

Phatic - the “bedroom” where you keep your obese aunt.
(must be pronounced “ont” in this definition, for some reason)
Phatic
When she says ,”Do these jeans make me look phatic?” then those jeans should have stayed in the attic!

A+++ i have never asked that question of anyone!
I slipped that one in there... hehe
perhaps I should have added ‘crazy’ - your crazy obese aunt.
The only proper response is...Lady, it ain’t the jeans.
well don’t start making value judgments now.. ; ) LOL
In that situation you can be entirely literal and honest.
“No”
(those jeans don’t make you look fat)
Now that the “I” word is phatic
(Impeachment, if I must be emphatic)
Will the RINOs join in?
No, they’ll let Barry win
So afraid of creating some static
