All for a meal. A fight over a piece of bread has left two men from the Subcontinent with serious injuries in a Kuwaiti city.

According to a report in arabtimesonline, a Pakistani and an Indian were waiting in queue at a restaurant in Fahaheel to buy chapatti (flatbread).

Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that when it was the Pakistani’s turn, the Indian man overtook him and took the chapatti.

They argued about it and quickly they got into blows.

The Indian man claims that the restaurant staff gave it to him.

However, both of them are seriously injured and the matter got out of control as a customer alerted the operations room of the Ministry of Interior and reported the incident.

Securitymen rushed to the scene, along with a team of medical emergency workers.

Both were referred to hospital.

I thought they were throwing chapatis at each other. The title should have read “fist fight over chapatis...”.

For a good chapatti, I would have bumped both of them out of line.

Mmmmm. About 37 years ago, I used to eat at a little hole in the wall place in Bangkok. It was in the Indian/cloth selling district down by the river. I could gorge for about $1., maybe less.
