Well sure. When I was processing those cases I was always shocked at how little our regular military makes. A lot of them have families and live off base so yes they qualify for food stamps.

The military makes pretty good money today.

A lot of us here were truly poor during our time in the military, and many of us today are civilians that see the military making better money than many civilians.

Today they own new cars and live in nice apartments and homes, have families, they are more like the middle class rather than guys who can’t even afford to go off base for a drink, in fact the military is where many parents who already have kids, go for the upgrade.

Agreed. Granted food prices are insane now but a Thanksgiving meal can be done pretty inexpensively. Especially if you use fresh items. Turkeys go on sale plus many supermarkets give small turkeys away if you spend over a certain amount. Or they used to.
