Whatever it may be, muscle cars were — and still are — a huge part of being a gearhead.

Yes, indeed. I came close to buying a later V-12 E-type roadster once. It was owned by an older woman, an attorney that worked in an adjacent office in my building. The price was more than fair at the time, but it needed a lot of restoration - especially the interior. Oh, well. Now I just occasionally glance through the Eagle E-Types website and drool.
I’m already doing a restoration, I know the hours. I’m talking something completely different.
I had an old Signet, which is a Dart derivative. I believe Plymouth made the Signet. It was a pile of junk after I drove it to college for four years. Wasn’t worth anything as it was so rusted out it would’ve cost a small fortune to get somebody to weld it properly. My friends and I decided to take it out and kill it. We drained the radiator, and the motor oil. We drove it around for hours and hours. After a couple of nights we gave up trying to kill it. The junk guy took it, and called me up later on that day and asked me if I knew that the oil plug was missing out of the oil pan. They don’t make many better engines than the old slant 6, 225.
Signet was a type of Plymouth Valiant
My ‘66 Dodge Dart had the puny 225 in it, but I could change the fuel pump in 15 minutes, the starter in 20, and the water pump in under an hour.
In all seriousness, I could do just that with my 66 Plymouth Belvedere station wagon.
I had a French teacher like that. When she was writing on the blackboard, I temporarily forgot about the dream car.
There was a movie, years ago, about a group that took a school bus engine, and put it in a car for a race. I cannot remember the name of that movie, so I suppose I should just google it, but that’s not half as much fun when I finally remember!
