I am not wishing harm upon anyone, I am just wondering how much damage will be done tonight in a city that has declared bankruptcy and that law enforcement is already decimated.
Is Devil's Night still pretty violent in Detroit?
Never really heard it called “Devil’s night”... we always called it “Mischief night” around here.
Hundreds of dollars in damage likely to be done.
You did me one better, and I’m stealing it for future reference :)
not so much the violence as it is burning abandoned buildings?
every night is like shoot out at the fantacy factory in detroit
How much is left to burn down?
Nice alliteration, too.
Might be an improvement to burn the place to the ground. Isn’t most of it abandoned slums?
Burning down all those isolated buildings would probably save the city money in tear-down costs.
The neighborhood patrols have been out for the past few nights, and it’s been quiet. Don’t know about tonight. They’ll have it on the 10 or 11:00 news if there were any fires.
Just stay from the pawn shops. They’re a vital service in the city.
Got news for you pal. The Devil left Detroit a long time ago. Even he couldn’t stand the crap that was going on.
Just another Halloween there where parents will need to be armed just to protect their children during “Trick or Treat”.
Talking about “Trick or Treat”. The old commies who ran Detroit into the cesspool, Coleman Young (CPUSA member), Maryanne Mahaffey (CPUSA and DSA); Erma Henderson (CPUSA and DSA), John Conyers (CPUSA and DSA), Carl Levin (asshole personified (World Peace Council dupe, a KGB operation), etc., certainly did “TRICK” the people of that city” but they never gave then a “TREAT” (unless you call massive unemployment, deserted neighborhoods, major crime, economic decay and political corruption a “TREAT”).
The Devil, you say!
TO #21: It used to be called “Coleman Young Night”. Same thing as “Devil’s Night”, only he was a living devil.
I can only thank the Lord that I don’t live anywhere near that place.
Sounds like a relatively quiet night. No official tally till after tonight but certainly a fraction of the peak from 1984 when there were 800 fires.
No word on how many fires were typical accidental fires or insurance arsons.
Knew it. How many years since it’s been a problem, anyway? (Not talking about ‘84, but more recently).
Its always a problem on Halloween but the reality doesn’t match the DU style hype. The cowards have moved on to their next exciting half ass story out of Detroit from the libertarian republic.
