I’ve got a recollection from that era, could have been Jan 1977, when there was snow on the ground in every one of the fifty states (back before there were 57).

1977 was a monster year for snow and cold! Remember it well. Lived in N. Ohio and was driving a full sized van. Had the radiator blocked with cardboard and a blanket hung to screen off the rear section behind the seat and STILL was freezing.
