"It's running well above normal," said Matt Rogers, president of Commodity Weather Group, a commercial forecaster in Bethesda, Md. "Through the last week of September, it's the highest snow total in Eurasia since 1977."

We’re being told it will be the coldest winter in over 100 years.

The Old Farmers Almanac has already called for a cold winter.

1977 was a monster year for snow and cold!

“We’re being told it will be the coldest winter in over 100 years.”

And many of us would be most thankful to the citizen that ties up the Gorething outside so that we can 1) watch that fat dork freeze to death, and 2) then take bodacious Obamas on the carcass.

In September, 911,000 square miles of northern Europe and Asia were covered by snow, according to the Rutgers University Global Snow Lab. That compared with the 1981-2010 mean of 1.5 million.

"It's running well above normal," said Matt Rogers, president of Commodity Weather Group . . . .

Only a global warmist would say that 911,000 is "well above" a mean of 1.5 million. Or do I need to take a global warming math class or something?

That number is for end of September but their final calculation will be for end of October.

November begins on Friday and I'm planning on the weather to turn sharply colder - followed by varying amounts of snow and ice.

I would prefer snow to ice as ice tends to bring power lines down and send my cars into ditches.

I have the following items in preparation:

If you all can think of anything else, please feel free to add it to this thread.

Would be funny if a few of those Greenpeace guys the Russians arrested spent a few winters in a Siberian prison. They will get a whole new perspective on global warming.

Joe Bastardi recently made a very similar observation.

You are a little short on fire wood. We usually burn about 5 cords, I have 8 cords dry and ready to go.

Add tractor with blade and 4wd vehicle. You need to open the road for emergency vehicles.

Someone texted me in alarm from the West Cost weeks ago that the geese were already flying south. Usually it is about three months later.

It was even on Drudge that Crater Lake had snow months before it usually does.

Let’s not allow this to become political. It’s too important for people to prepare.

Under Armor Cold Gear shirts, pants, sweats and undies. This is incredible stuff. You can layer it up in the morning and un layer if the day warms up.

Wool socks of various thickness for you and your wife. In the wintertime, if my wife wants to cuddle at night, she has to have wool socks on her icey chunks posing as feet.

Have the ingredients in cans to make good soup if a power loss takes out your refrigerator/freezer.

“The sun is ‘quietening’ really rapidly. We think it is actually quietening more rapidly than at any time in the last 10,000 years. “So this is a major change. We think lower solar activity does seem to tie up with more cold winters in central Europe and the UK.”

I’d rather stake him out for the bears and coyotes. Let him commune with the nature he loves so much.

We just got a bit of snow here at 2500 ft in north Idaho. That should send another wave of recent California move-ins fleeing in dismay.
