“I don’t believe in God but I believe in Obamacare”.
I went to a Giants’ game this summer and they did NOT sing God Bless America. I figured it was a San Fran thing.
I really hate to hear Rosanne Barr sing “God Bless America” then again...that’s what we’ve become.
I thought the song was the Star Spangled Banner. ??
OK how bout Onward Christian Soldiers?
I had the privilege of playing the National Anthem (NOT ‘God Bless America’) at a Braves game once.
Not surprising. The religion section at DU consists of loons who use crystals and talk to trees.
“God Bless America” is sung at the 7th inning stretch. The World Series still begins with the National Anthem. I’m okay with this, and even enjoy the New England liberals singing along with God blessing this great country!!!!
Oops, now I understand. That was a DUmmies post, and they really were complaining about God blessing America. Figures!!! Makes me like it all the more!!!
Anyway, such feelings are nothing new for the Left: they have hated America and denied God for a long, long time. Many are simply "coming out" now, emboldened by the Progressives' successful bondage and domination of America's governmental institutions, educational establishments, and popular culture.
Ah, pretty light treatment for the DUmp...a couple of people actually spoke up for it.
I’m sure the first word of the title is what is off-putting to most of them.

Sometimes even the performers don’t know what they are singing.
Well, I certainly wouldn’t want to offend their religious sensibilities. I propose a compromise: we sing Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue”. I mean, that’s secular, isn’t it?
I don't think that crowd was any less patriotic than any crowd of today.
Been the standard practice sine 9/11.
Not interested in following the link. Are they quoting Michelle Obama?
They DON’T sing God Bless America at every game. They sing The National Anthem.
Reminds me of an episode of the old Mr. Belvedere TV series where Bob Uecker’s character is a TV sportscaster who is told to make his editorial comments “more controversial”.
So the topic of his next one becomes “The National Anthem: Who Needs It?”
The DU commenter can take his suitcase and lack of love for America and go away. Why be miserable, pack your crap and go. Persons like him/her will not fight for this country and all that we should be proud of here, and are therefore not needed. Much like a family member who is hateful to the family - go away.
I’m glad that when we gather for a ballgame that we stop to remember our freedoms and how they were earned. We should be proud to be an American.
I’m also glad that at the 7th inning stretch at the Ballpark in Arlington we stand and sing “Deep in the Heart of Texas”, but no one has to be reminded why they should be proud to be a Texan!
