Word For The Day, Monday, 10/28/13

;

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

imprimatur; noun

1. an official license to print or publish a book, pamphlet, etc., especially a license issued by a censor of the Roman Catholic Church. Compare nihil obstat. 2. sanction or approval; support: Our plan has the company president's imprimatur.

Etymology: Origin: 1630–40; < Neo-Latin: let it be printed, Latin: let it be made by pressing upon (something); see impress1

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

A very painful lesson, in voting Democrat.

Sadly, it affects those least likely to recover from it.

Fox News doesn’t broadcast. You can’t get it with any antenna.

They did venture into college football Saturday evening. Some poor schmuck looking for Huckabee must have been confused.

I did not have management imprimatur to reboot the email server, but considering their technological ignorance and the fact that the president of company was complaining he couldn’t get his day started without it, I rebooted them anyway.

Lol. When I was in Millington we used to play Assassin.

Everyone puts their name in a Jar, everyone takes a name.

Dart guns. Defined Safe places. (Mess hall, club,Barracks etc).

You get a guy you get his paper (no rule about going after the guy whose name you have, as you can get the guy that has your name, inadverently, its collecting that counts)

Guy who ends up with most names wins.

Freaking Hilarious.
