In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
imprimatur; noun
1. an official license to print or publish a book, pamphlet, etc., especially a license issued by a censor of the Roman Catholic Church. Compare nihil obstat. 2. sanction or approval; support: Our plan has the company president's imprimatur.
Etymology: Origin: 163040; < Neo-Latin: let it be printed, Latin: let it be made by pressing upon (something); see impress1
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

I’m surprised that King Obama hasn’t used the FCC to cancel the imprimatur for Fox News to broadcast.
