I agree inquiring minds should leave the sleaze factor, however erratic or unpalatable or satanic or whatever, well enough alone. It reminds me of an observation of George Michael a few years ago that he wished he could just put his work out there and not have to do any publicity, and this was pre all the bad things that have happened since 2006. He’s very business minded and knows that even though he’s got an amazingly loyal and patient fan base, he will have to give anything he releases the PR push - and as it’s been such a long time it’s actually going to be of massive interest to the music world in general, not just to us. He’ll have to be REALLY ready to face all that.

One of those dead dudes, who may or may not have coined the phrase, said it best:

No one here gets out alive.

Way too many people in the music biz are dying and unless we want the music to stop forever, we've got to do something about it.

I know, we'll put them on Obamacare!

Lou was bisexual and received ECT to try to “cure” him of it as far back as 1956.

My friends and I talked today about that night in Detroit and we all came to the same conclusion: he was Lou’s lover.

Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner, yeah just tremendous. It’s a lucky thing I found ‘Rock’n’Roll Animal’ before any Velvet or other solo stuff which I could never get into.

Pure 70’s guitar driven rock frenzy. I recall hearing that Lou Reed wasn’t really a fan of it, but I looked around on the net and can’t find anything now that supports that. Maybe it was an interview with one of those guitarists or something.

I found it, it’s a Dick Wagner 2012 interview.

http://www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Features/en-us/exclusive-interview-with-dick-wagner-0619-2012.aspx

“Lou claims not to like it now, but he certainly loved it then. It was over the top and the band was fantastic – although he eventually fired everybody and formed a whole new band doing a little more of a funky kind of thing. We were designed for stadium style rock, with big, majestic songs and arrangements. It was such a pleasure to play in that band. After that I took the band over to Alice Cooper and it became the Welcome to My Nightmare band, so that band had two lives.”

He had a lot to say in recent years. He’d been on a very high concept not always terribly listenable kick for most of the 21st. Interesting albums, creative albums, probably not good albums, and definitely not albums that would get anything played on the radio.

Yup. Here’s the poster for the edification of all. I never would have known. The webpage has the famous picture of being with Bowie too.

Campy stuff nonetheless.

I may not like the lifestyle but we aren’t talking about someone murdering or other diabolical crimes.
