Think of it this way: You still have Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke ... and twerking to tide you over ...

Well, I don’t have any work till tomorrow-I may as well subject my neighbor up the road to my music, for a change...

then I found and played some Doors, then...

Then you are toast.

Been trying to avoid the obvious trap/escape of the Doors this day.

Listening to King Crimson right now.

“I once went down to Neil’s ranch and he rowed me out into the middle of the lake—putting my life in his hands once again. He waved at someone invisible and music started to play, in the countryside. I realized Neil had his house wired as the left speaker, and his barn wired as the right speaker. And Elliot Mazer, his engineer, said ‘How is it?’ And Neil shouted back . . . ‘More Barn!’” —Graham Nash, talking about how Neil Young first played him Harvest.

Thanks!

Sometimes, listening to the Doors can be therapy-but not today- it isn’t raining...

I like that idea, but I live with a white trash economy-no big barn, etc. I have to be satisfied with just my little speakers.

I agree, I’m a huge Doors fan, but sometimes I would rather not deal with logical conclusions.

Transitioning in or out of the state of affairs.

No one depicted the seedier side of NYC better than Lou.

That must be the reason I couldn’t stand him.

I’d never heard that, but the singer snarls a bit like whatshername Morrisette. Maybe I should dig out a George Strait CD and prioritize and arrange tomorrow morning’s work...

The expression of human nature through music, mostly a blues riff, and simple lyrics that are direct and at times very hard core.

Pushing thoughts and ideas that exist but for some, are better left unsaid.

Personally, there is no better expression of this than “Blind Melon” or “The Violent Femmes”.

It has been my personal observation that drugs-legal or illegal-catch up with and burn a person out years before they would have checked out

I predict that very few of the baby boomer-era musicians will make it to 80. (This includes those born before the baby boomer era but influenced the baby boomer generation.)

That Reed even made it to 71 was amazing. You're right -- that whole lifestyle.
