For some reason, this just seems to me to be a tempest in a teapot. I can remember President Nixon dressing up the White House guards like some European palace guards and some (mostly on the left) went ballistic. Then President Clinton changed the Army cover to maroon berets and some (mostly on the right) went ballistic. Now pResident Bronchobama wants to change the Marine Corps covers to something resembling that French Foreign Legion kepi and once more some are in high dudgeon. Hell at least it is not a Fez and does have a little tradition.
