Dan Daley was certainly a man’s man. He uttered one of my favorite quotes of all time. Pinned down at Bellau Woods he is reported to have said “Come on you sons of bitches. Did you think you would live forever”.

Now that takes a set of gonads to say that in the situation they were in.

Thanks for this -- I think it was paraphrased in Clint Eastwood's "Heartbreak Ridge" in the conversation between Chouzou (sp?) and Gunny Highway where he says "You're too ugly to live forever."

I wonder if Dan Daley was the inspiration for the Highway character.
