Ya gotta read the entire story!

I'll excerpt comments -- and add a few comments later in the thread...

I don't want to "out of place" comments yet on this God-glorifying testimony!

“Despite the rejection I faced from 30 years of friends, despite the fact that I lost status, position, money, might lose children and our home, I walked away and never feared again.”

Say what you will, the Mormons are great people!! </sarc>

Seriously, this is what is promised to us in Scripture.

I am always cheered and grateful when people come from under darkness. May their new found Christian faith be blessed

The word would be correct.
I know two people who have started underground Bible believing churches in Iraq (I am sure else where as well), a few years ago they started twelve in East Germany.

Uhhh...no they are not, their theology makes them NOT Christian.

Want details? I can provide them.

The Brigham Young professor then set out to buy herself a cross necklace to show her love for Christ, but there was one problem—crosses were taboo at the university. “Mormons don’t revere the cross. They see it as an instrument of death, not the place where Christ became the savior,” she stated. “[I]f I was caught, I would be called in by my superiors and lose the ecclesiastical clearance I needed to work there.”

I wonder how Mormons would reconcile this with Philippians 3:17-19?

17 Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. 18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

Seems the Mormons are throwing in with some pretty bad company.

Years ago, as a very new Christian, I was confronted by a Mormon friend over a cross that I wore under my t-shirt. He was quite offended by it when he saw in the locker room of the gym. As I reflect on this incident years later and compare with the teaching of Paul, it is clear that my friend thought he was giving me spiritual enlightment when in fact, he was showing his own spiritual darkness.

Sorry. They’re not Christians. Maybe they could be considered “small-S ‘christians’”, in that they’re not Jewish, Muslim, etc. But they’re not Christians. When a group’s focus is primarily on the dictates of a human, whether Joseph Smith, the pope, etc., that belief is a cult.

“They follow a different Christ.”

There’s another one?
Who knew!

What about them Catholics and Orthodox? Are there third and fourth Christs for them?

Uhh, Mormons ARE Christians.

See Philippians 3:17-19 and you'll see that the Apostle Paul had a much different conclusion about those who hold the cross in derision.

Nope. Only the Mormon one is a separate being from God the Father. Only the Mormon one didn’t do enough to save sinners so that they can receive the best that His Kingdom offers. Only the Mormon one got down from the cross and visited America.

In the time that followed, Lynn Wilder began searching the Scriptures for answers. She states that the word of God opened her eyes to the truth.

“I read my Bible, sometimes hours a day, and truly felt I was being washed,” Wilder explained. “In its pages, I met a Jesus who was able to save me from my life of working to be ‘good.’”

I had a mormon "friend" tell me...after I told him I was a Christian....I shouldn't be all wrapped up/ occupied / carried away with Jesus. Although he didn't say it like that.

Turned me totally off...to him and anything he ever said to me again.

Had a mormon "bishop" basically do the same....and he was a RACIST to boot.

I know some mormons that are good solid people....but I think they are hoodwinked.

FWIW-
