After its shock reveal at the New York auto show, the 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 stands as one of the most anticipated machines of the year. GM promised new heights of performance, and an unrelenting dedication to make the car worthy of its legendary name, and challenge some of the world's best. We got the chance to take a Z/28 deep dive at GM's Milford Proving Grounds, and ride shotgun in one of its development mules on the venue's test track. Is it everything that was promised?

Even the cheaper cars are faster and better made than they used to be.

Drag strips were basically free... I used to go to 75-80 drag strip in MD all the time.

The '66 Dart was the '92 Camry of its day. They both were made too well. They wouldn't break.
While the Dart was/is more of a tank, the '92 Camry is still on the road in vast numbers today. Lotsa Darts out there too.

Exactly, me too, I loved those small block Chevys. No more. I am driving a Ford today. Me too, and I don't regret it for a moment. Taken outside my mom's house:

I took it more as a comment on getting onto a 1/4 or 1/2 mile oval. Those were being used all weekend by the guys running modifieds or stocks.

What on Earth is an ad for an Obamamobile doing on FreeRepublic?
The government gift of GM to the very union thugs that destroyed that once great company has destroyed the life savings of every american due to wiping out the constitutional protections of bonds (contracts).
Totally inappropriate here.

Well, I am still a Mopar man, and Fiat has done some very good things with the lineup from ma mopar....much better steward of Chrysler then Daimler, who just about robbed Chrysler blind and dumped them in the gutter when done.
As far as ANYTHING from GM....I'd rather eat worms then drive a Chevy.....nothing but Mopar in my driveway.

Chevy lost me when the paint pealed off my 1986 Pickup after only a couple of years.
They basically said “Too Bad, Oh so sad.”
That was the last Chevy that sat in my driveway.

Mopar is no better than GM.
They got sold to the very globalist/socialist Fiat Co.

When I young I bought myself a 1986 Fire Engine Red Firebird. I loved that car. I had rugs over my carpet and no one could get in without being inspected for dirt. I should have kept that car I would love to have it today.

The car itself is innocent, and awesome. :)

My wife's '94 Caprice wagon with the 350 is holding up VERY nicely at 205,000 miles. The wind in our area made her unfortable in minivans. Our Plymouth Voyager was particularly AWFUL (2.6 Mitsubishi engine, AWFUL front end). The Ford Aerostar was amazingly functional, but for a REAL station wagon, the Caprice/Roadmaster was the last one standing.

Totally inappropriate here.Agree 100%. Gov't Motors...no thanks. They can roll out all of their "good times/retro" designs, but they completely screwed the pooch with their 0'Bailout association.
