I have an ‘01’ in black. 170k I get about 19-20 mpg on the freeway and 14-15 mpg. Thing is I can beat the crap out of it or try hyper milling and the mileage stays the same.
The part I loved was you could drive it like a sprint car in the snow in 2WD and then switch to 4WD after you slid off in the ditch to get back going.
