Ha...my wife occasionally goes to the barber with me because we go out for lunch afterwards, and one day she asked if he could trim her hair too, and he ushered her into the chair. Took a little off here and there, charged her what guys get charged, and she was as pleased as punch...:)
I am with you. I love getting the razor, but have never had a full facial shave...I will, though!

Well nothing wrong with going to a beauty parlor to meet beauties... but really, he ought to have considered picking up part of the tab. Consider it date scouting or something.

Mrs. 40 respects my wishes and keeps her hair long. In return, I allow her to have a say in what happens on my head. Now if I could just get her to accept this beard.

I lucked into wisdom through laziness, there’s a long list of stuff I don’t care about because caring requires more effort than I’m willing to put in, if she does we go her way. The haircut I have was actually picked by my barber, walked in said “make it look good short, but not crew cut short”, and that’s been my hairstyle ever since, I believe very strongly in the power of the trained professional.

If you can find an article about politics that won’t make me suicidal, please post.

I will offer commentary/suggestione to my DH, but I wouldn’t call the barber to give instructions..

Attitude is 95% of it. Most wise gals will pick the nerd who cares over the hunk who is a jerk.

My wife tried this once. She and the female hairstylist started discussing what would look good on me, until I said "Speaking as the one who will decide whether or not to pay for this ...".
That was the last time she tried that.

I imagine this metrosexual guy not only gets his hair cut (oops i mean styled) and approved by his wife, but she also buys his clothes for him.
And she picks out his outfit for him every morning.
(Sheesh)

Agreed. That was a longtime sore spot between me, and my wife. It became worthwhile, to keep my mouth shut, for the $21 differential :)

Why bother with the mirror. Shorter is better.

About 5 years ago, We bought a razor so my wife could cut our 9 year old boys hair. I thought she did a pretty good job at it, so I bravely let her do my hair. I told her I wanted her to cut it higher off my ears. Not soon after, I hear a *gasp*. I go look in the mirror and its like 2 inches too high. I looked like a complete dweeb for at least 2-3 weeks and I could tell strangers were looking at my hair, and my friends were like WTF happened to your hair?
I think I gained some brownie points for not completely freaking out. I told her it would be okay and not to worry about it.
Needless to say, I just go to the barber now.
