Prosecutors are a force unto themselves.

(See Nifong and Corey - they are the conductors on the gulag railroads)

Yeah there is a ‘back story’.
If the ruling elite can get as many of us as possible convicted of some felony, even bogus ‘felonies’ they can legally bar us from owning firearms.
Just another act of ruling elite self protection

Not even in Britain would something as retarded as this happen. The maximum sentence for possessing an illegal firearm in Britain is 5 years, and if legally held but carried in an unsecure manner in the back of a car, the most they could expect to happen is that their firearms certificate would be revoked, they would almost certainly not be imprisoned.

It’s illegal to attract the attention of cops and allow them to find your gun.

Brian Aitken is a media and marketing entrepreneur[1] who was arrested and imprisoned for possession of handguns legally purchased in Colorado and transported in New Jersey from one residence to another. His case has become a battleground for gun control advocates and opponents alike after he was sentenced to seven years in prison.[2] On 20 December 2010, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed a letter ordering the immediate release of Aitken from Mid-State Correctional Facility.[3] For about a year, from January 2011 through January 2012, Aitken was the Director of New Media for America’s oldest free market organization, the Foundation for Economic Education[4][dead link] and has spoken openly about freedom and liberty.[5][6]

On March 30, 2012 two of the three convictions were overturned by the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division and on April 4, 2012 the State of New Jersey dismissed the outstanding charge of ‘Illegal Possession of Firearms’.

When he arrived, the officers searched his car and found three locked, unloaded handguns in the trunk. He was then arrested.

But as the FR jackboot lickers insist the cops are "on our One wonders if he gave consent to the search. BAD IDEA

His mother learned a lesson the hard way, for her son at least. Never, ever under no circumstances get the police involved in anything. They are not the friend of the law abiding.
