A Malaysian court has ruled that non-Muslims cannot use the word Allah to refer to God, even in their own faiths, overturning a 2009 lower court ruling.
The appeals court said the term Allah must be exclusive to Islam or it could cause public disorder.
People of all faiths use the word Allah in Malay to refer to their Gods.
Christians argue they have used the word, which entered Malay from Arabic, to refer to their God for centuries and that the ruling violates their rights.
One Malaysian Christian woman said the ruling would affect the community greatly.
"If we are prohibited from using the word Allah then we have to re-translate the whole Bible, if it comes to that," Ester Moiji from Sabah state told the BBC.

Why would they?
Ancient Mecca was a vital crossroads of several Caravan Routes. It was a huge multicultural hub of many travelers of varying cultures and religions. The Kaaba, in the center of town, was a makeshift temple built to service all these travelers, and contained over 350 various idols of all the visitors who frequented this teeming hub of commerce. “Allat” the local Moon Goddess, and her three daughters were among these many idols. The moon is nearly always represented by a female deity in early cultures, because it has a 28 day cycle of waxing and waning. Remnants of this ancient lunar goddess are seen on the top of every dome and on every flag in the Islamic world. In the Book of Revelation, the “Woman Clothed with the Sun” is depicted stepping a crescent moon. It is not hard to imagine what the crescent moon represents. In Roman Catholic iconography, The Virgin Mary is sometimes depicted stepping on the crescent moon as well as on a snake (representing satan).
The point I am making is that “Allah” is NOT YHVH, God The Father, Almighty God, or the One True God of Abraham. Although shrouded in secrecy, propaganda, and linguistic trickery, “Allah” is a separate entity, not just the Arabic word for “God”.
It would be a good thing if our Christian Brethren in Malaysia stop using that name for the One True God, although, it is ridiculous that they are forbidden by LAW to do so. For legislation to be passed outlawing the use of that name by Non-Muslims actually VERIFIES that “Allah” and “God The Father” are NOT one and the same.
They’ve used the word “Allah” as “God” for centuries. They have to retranslate all their Bibles now because of this ruling.
There is no god named Allah and Mohammed is his false prophet.
Question is why they did in the first place. Allah is a fictitious name like Zeus.
It’s really much clearer to refer to allah as the “pedophile prophet’s false moon god” anyway.
