My, don't they look proud. But after shooting this rare albino moose near Belle Cote in Nova Scotia last week and posting the pics to social media the trio has sparked considerable outrage, particularly among the region's Mi'kmaq indigenous community.
These guys breached a kind of unwritten code of conduct that has also upset many in the hunting community.

He shot it. He realizes now it’s a moose steak.
Looks kind of like someone was strip mining there.
Okay, fair enough.
Yep. Brevard, Hendersonville and Mills River have them.
JR, thought you might need a good chuckle as you recover, so I pinged you to one of the more entertaining threads in recent memory. Cheers! Hope you are feeling better!
Yeah. Fortunately we don’t have moose here in central KY. I did high center at 70 mph on a dead Coyote last week though. I drive a Scion FRS. I am very watchful for deer on my 62 mile morning commute. I see one or two a day. And if there is one crossing in front of you there are usually more getting ready to.
Hitting a moose would probably kill me in my scion.
There are a surprising number of posts on this thread from people who seem to have learned everything they know about hunting from watching “Bambi”.
That’s the most pitiful looking unicorn I’ve ever seen.
Is this Free Republic? Or Daily Kos?
Animal habitat is NOT shrinking. Ask an actual wildlife biologist. There is more forest TODAY in America than there was when the Declaration of Independence was written. All those forests that the environmentalists say we can't cut down were our ancestors' FARMLAND.
Can't believe this thread is on Free Republic.
I would shoot a moose at 300 yards if I had the shot, WHITE or not. We are humans. We have the primacy on this planet. We should manage the game, but good grief, nobody outside hunters would have ever seen that white moose had the hunters not killed it!
sad, sad unicorn
You know what’s funny?
This town I am in now, it’s high school mascot is the Unicorn... lol
Hunters like me are COWARDS?
I cannot believe this punk has not been zotted.
Is this FR? Or Daily Kos?
Listen, punk, long before your city folk had their supermarkets supplied by factory farms (which you apparently have no problem with), my people lived by hunting.
I call YOU coward for not having the cajones to actually kill the things you eat.
And yes, 300 yards with a medium-caliber scoped rifle IS a sporting shot. It is only because what you know about hunting came from a Disney movie that you think otherwise.
Again, sickening that such appears on FR, a pro-gun, pro-America site.
Only because they can’t get to them....it’s a long way from the Arctic to the Antarctic!!!
“Hitting a moose would probably kill me in my scion.”
In Alaska, my friend, a photographer, used to be on call for the coroner and sheriff to document cases. He said that he photographed the scene where a speeding small car had gone under — almost all the way — a large moose. Apparently the bodies were gruesome. The car didn’t look too great, either.
A very funny movie!!!
I drive a Miata. It would kill me even deader.
Look at all the trees that damn moose ate!!!
When I was in Alaska we saw a moose pretty close to the road. I got out and tried to get it to stop and be friendly*. The closer I got, the more I was able to grasp just how big it was - and how wild it is. I got back in the car and left. They dwarf a lot of horses.
*I know that at this point you said to yourself, “What an idiot!”
You do not want to hit a moose. Ever! Pictures are worth a thousand words.

I can’t sympathize with the moose very much. You know, a moose bit my sister once.
