:"Under the Unaffordable Care Act, as redefined by the Supreme Court, whether or not you buy health care insurance is a purely economic decision. You can sign up for a plan which may cost several hundred dollars a month or more, or you can pay a tax (in 2016 and beyond -- 2014 and 2015 are cheaper) of about $58 per month for individuals or $174 per month for families of 4 or more (or 2.5% of household income, whichever is greater). Think of paying the tax as your guarantee that you will be able to buy comprehensive health insurance at the next open-enrollment period should the need arise, as insurance companies must now accept people with pre-existing conditions. In the meantime, you could pay for your own health care out of pocket; it might be the cheaper way to go.

Are the Muslims exempted from this?
If so, is this a “tribute tax”?

So, are insurance fees for Obamacare and/or applicable fines to be counted as Federal Taxes paid when filing with the IRS each year?

The problem is that the tax of 2.5% is quite a lot if you have a decent income ($2000 for an $80,000 income), and only people with decent incomes can pay for healthcare out of pocket.

Do the fines, er Tax collected go to cover Obamacare expenses or do they just get dumped into the General Fund like SS and Medicare?

The truth is that virtually no one is liable to Obamacare.
And, if people comnprehended that, the whole country would change for the better, because Democrats would be permanently de-funded.
But it's too big a truth, protected by too big a lie - so everyone hides from it.
Nevertheless, it is the truth - straight from the ruling of the Chief Justice.

A question to all:
I’ve heard that the premium amount paid by the employer will be considered taxable income. If that’s true, will the subsidies be considered income?
