1941: Photograph of a 'time traveler' ...
Young man (right side, third up) with sunglasses and contemporary-like clothing in this 1940s photograph.
- From Wikipedia:
A photograph from 1941 of the re-opening of the South Forks Bridge in Gold Bridge, Canada, was alleged to show a time traveler. It was claimed that his clothing and sunglasses were modern and not of the styles worn in the 1940s.
The modern appearance of the man may not have been so modern. The style of sunglasses first appeared in the 1920s. The sweater with a sewn-on emblem, is the kind of clothing often worn by sports teams of the period. The shirt is very similar to the one that was used by the Montreal Maroons, a hockey team, from that era. The remainder of his clothing would appear to have been available at the time, though his clothes are far more casual than those worn by the other individuals in the photograph.

You said that with such authority that I suspend all my skepticism and accept what you say. And tomorrow I’m going to tell every one “Happy T-Shirt anniversary”
I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces.

I was thinking of Dr. Who myself. Early in the relaunch with Eccleston/Piper, Rose goes to visit a guy that knows about "the Doctor", and the guy's son answers the door and yells "Dad, it's one of your nutters..."
Any way, the guy has a bunch of drawings/paintings/photos with the Doctor.
Then again, there's Woody Allen's "Zelig", too.

Who would he be calling in 1928? Cell phone towers were pretty rare before 1990.

There is an apocryphal text, I believe it is the
Gospel of St. Barmy The Surprised if my religious instruction is still with me, in which Jesus is quoted as saying, "Yea, though many people gather about me, and some appear to be of other times and places, I tell you truly that you will always have the Hipster Doofusses among you, even to the End Times."
Clearly that book needs to be reconsidered for the canon.

My late Father was 24 in 1941, and that is the way that some young men, mostly college students, dressed at that time. He is wearing a sports type t-shirt with a sports 1938 “Superman” look to it. Look at the wide collar on it, not like today’s style.

No time travel but they are all watching us through a time viewing portal and saying “What the hell were those Americans doing electing that jack ass?”

That would be Ted. We've been trying to reel him in for quite a long time. We don't know if has forgotten his coordinates or is deliberately jumping through time for the adventures. He likes crowds and like to attend big events , like this Octoberfest in Cincinnati. If you see him, tell him his family misses him. Tell him Yellowstone at noon,Tuesday. He'll know what it means.

Are you going to believe Wikipedia or your own eyes? The man is obviously a time traveler on vacation. I don’t remember seeing any sunglasses like those from when I traveled to the 1920s. You can be certain that this is real dude from the future who just made a fashion error before he travelled back in time.
