Geesh, I think we can see why Dempster isn’t one of the post-season closers... I think Farrell was going to use Dempster in long relief in the playoffs if needed. So far not needed. :-) ...as I recall.

Ryan Dempster sighting!!! Did he pitch in the previous rounds?
I don’t see a sweep happening but it’s worth mentioning, both modern Red Sox wins were sweeps. They haven’t lost a WS game since Game 7 in ‘86. 9 in a row now.
2009 was the only time in the last 10 years that the Game 1 winner didn’t win the series, before that 2002, before that 1996.
