Support Boehner?
Self | 9-6-2013 | KittenClaws

Why can't we give Boehner a show of support?

Will you call John Boehner and tell him we support him standing strong?

I choose to stay in the day, I can’t change yesterday.

That’s the truth. Today is all we have to work with.

The past is gone, the future yet to be.

And right now, our future as a free people, lies within the hands of congress.

Good for you. It was hard for me to do too..kinda stuck in my throat before I could actually type it out....lol. I tweeted him that I had been hard on him in the past, but that he was doing the right thing now standing up to Reid and Obama. Then I told him to #holdtheline. I don’t do Facebook, or would go there too.

Think of it this way. What would you rather choke on - supporting boehner, or having the usurper own our lives?

I’ll choose supporting boehner every time.

For the doubters. If you truly believe he is weak, as I do........then supporting him is the only logical choice.

I still feel that Obama has some dirt on Boehner and he will eventually cave in the 11th hour. Obama has controlled Boehner time and time again.

How I feel right now has nothing to do about my feelings being hurt that he has failed us in the past. It has to do with what Obama has on people in Congress, in positions of power.

Do I hope that for once, Boehner will make and keep a stand? Yes...but not ready to give him “kudos” right now. I am in the watch and see mode right now. He has to earn my trust due to his past caving to Obama and the Dems.

Thanks popodonnelly.

Get the word out.

Boehner may fold, but it shouldn’t be because he had no support.

If he has our support and folds, at the very least we have the high ground.

We can truthfully say we did everything we could.

Get a grip GailA.

Would you be so tacky if it was Ted Cruz?

I think not, because Ted Cruz inspired you.

It is your turn to inspire someone else.

Is that too much for you?

Whose backbone did he borrow and when does he have to give it back?

“Praise when he does well, constructive criticism when he doesn’t is certainly better than flat out obstinacy and cynicism concerning anything he does.”

Well said.

To answer your question as asked:

If we would provide him with some support, he may be able to keep that backbone long enough to bring Reid to his knees.

And my further comment:

The ugliness here is unbelievable.

Are we not reasonable people? Do y’all enjoy your one liners so much, that you are willing to forfeit our freedom?

That’s what it looks like to me.

Hate John boehner, have fun with your little barbs ......that’s the democratic way isn’t it?

I’m saying John Boehner is what we have right now. He holds the power. Like it or not, he IS the speaker.

Yes, he is weak.

I seek to strengthen him with praise.

If y’all feel good kicking someone who is attempting to do the right thing is a positive, then perhaps you should remove that beam from your eye so you can see a tad better.

Hey, if Boehner is in the fight, support him, he has held out for now!

Who knows, maybe Boehner has actually had a spark lit under him.

It makes no difference why he stands strong, so long as he stands strong.

I offer my support to him because he is standing strong.

Not because of his past or his future, because of the fight we fight now.

I’m not saying they should be treated better. I’m saying if I had a vote to pay them back pay, I would

Which means that yes, you are saying they should be treated better unless you can come up with some private sector equivalent that gives back pay to their furloughed workers. In the real world companies furlough workers in an attempt to save money. Paying them for the furlough kind of defeats the purpose.

one, because I’m not a vile heartless pol like Harry Reid, and two, because the media will hammer me relentlessly if I didn’t.

If Harry Reid shoots down back pay it's a ploy to exploit the sense of entitlement government workers feel, ie, that they are somehow entitled to a lifetime of security in exchange for "serving" the public. As for being hammered by the media, that's going to happen no matter what.

Why not call up Boehner and ask: where is the PR campaign? I am getting bombarded with common core ads here in FL. Nothing about obamacare/shutdown. Rove dumped millions in amnesty ads on us. Nothing so far on obamacare. See the pattern? The GOP is not putting their money where their mouths are.

I don’t see the GOP letting the dogs out and going all in to win this battle. That is the message Boehner needs to hear and not just an atta boy pat on the back.

It’s not about Florida. It’s about the freedom of people in all 50 States. The issues you raise are legitimate but not part of this fight.

If we do not win this one, the others will fall. Besides, your governor ought to address common core...what the heck is his problem.? You think boehner should interfere with something your governor has no backbone to fight?

Boehner needs to stand firm on the shutdown. Period.

As for the PR campaign. You want to blame boehner for that? Direct it where it belongs. Or do you know where it belongs?
