The numbers don't matter, silly!
Obama and his flying monkeys' goal is maximum pain to the greatest number of people.
...and then "blame" it all on the Republicans.
That Bullshit* is no longer credible.
Well I figured out why they redirected the sites thanks to the poster on this thread who’s defending the administration’s decision.
The fact is that these informational type sites (not complex builds, not script intensive, no ecommerce etc. etc) don’t need much after they’re built. Though I love IT, IT is notorious for creating the vision of everything that can go wrong, and as a result, why they are indispensable. It doesn’t mean things can’t go wrong, just that the picture is often far worse than the reality.
So, if they left these low tech sites up and nothing went wrong for weeks, then what does that say about their relevance?
This is all about him, you know...

All federal websites are closed and redirecting to a specific page which blames the pubbies.
It takes no effort to maintain a web page. Once designed and uploaded it just sits on the server. This is all a temper tantrum on the part of the little dictator.
you're right!
The IT folks aren’t to blame. The order to redirect came from the White House. They were given specific wording with not deviation allowed.
It doesn’t need constant hands-on maintenance.
You familiar with the saying (applicable to consulting and government contracting) that if you aren’t part of the solution there’s damn good money to be made prolonging the problem ...?
“Lol....your support of the administration is understood.”
lol back, as is your hysteria over a simple web page.
Furthermore, your clueless comment at #42 shows how weak your technical grasp is. Do you really think some meager static site is a concern and on its own server? The modern server is redundant in all aspects and hosts many sites, using many DB methods, even more content management systems, and is backed up to a remote silo that requires frequent exchange of tapes.
Yes, it actually needs to be staffed to fix the parts that fail and you have no clue of the underlying technology while you move your animated gif into the correct corner and agonize over what color and font to use. Good thing you are not having to support something important with your meager grasp of how it all works.
lol @ your “support the administration”. Silly html-izer, find a real issue.
Exactly.
Your insults only confirm I am right. If you were as skilled as you insist, you’d be far less defensive and patronizing and would try to educate. Instead, you cop to insults so I highly doubt from your limited site language and solutions that you manage any servers...sounds like you are pretending you manage multitudes of sites for AWS or Rackspace...and your silly references to godaddy and gifs shows you don’t manage anything too sophisticated so let’s just end this nonsense and leave it that you have gone to the wall to defend the administration. BTW, check out the dept of labor site which makes use of what I suggested and shows they are doing what I said on bigger sites...leave them up but don’t update, and message accordingly. Of course it’s not about a small site which was my point all along...they went to more trouble to redirect it than leave it. Best regards.
Shall I follow you over there and educate the ignorant on your behalf? Reposting stories is the FR way, search engines are beyond many here.
I hardly care, persist on your frivolous crusade. A govt web site, or 10 or 100 are down, oh the horror, the horror,
