FReepers take it under advisement that once you log in and fill out information, even if you elect to NOT have health insurance, they still have your info. in a database and know you're not insured if you fill out the forms.
Please know that there are so many intenal inconsistancies in Ocare, that summary assertions regarding max per family penalties, are likely to be WRONG!
You will see a wide variety of “official” responses, as folks attempt to register.
Especially the part about suspending a driver's license and putting a tax lien on the home.
The Obamacare bill explicitly prohibits the IRS from any prosecution for non-payment, and from assessing any levy on property:

The fee in 2014 is 1% of your yearly income or $95 per person for the year, whichever is higher.
In 2014 the fee for uninsured children is $47.50 per child. The most a family would have to pay in 2014 is $285.
So it’s either a fake posting or the “navigator” was completely wrong.

Well, now YOU are responsible for more disinformation, or, perhaps, you were misled by the chart. The MAX penalty is NOT just $285. It is 1% of your income. For someone making $50K, that is $500 the first year, and it grows to 2% or $1,000 the second year, and 2.5% or $1,250 the third year and every year subsequently.
I am pretty curious to find out if this is a hoax however I am more inclined to believe it is not.. this is not a rare story, infact this is becoming the norm for those signing up not realizing what is really going on. I did my own checking and these people responding are very real everyday people, on both spectrums of the political table. I have a daughter with a pre-ex. and you can not tell me that just because she can get ins. It won’t cost her a ton, her medical supplies as of today are 1,800 a month, now where is she going to find an insurance company that will cover her for anything less than what her needs cost a month. she won’t! and I wonder why his post was removed so quickly?
