I'm somewhere in this picture.
libs are yucking it up because they have been told by the lamestream media the shutdown will mean “a delay in gun permits”
Gee thats funny. Even here in CA I didn’t need a federal permit for any of my guns. Not even ARs
My cofee was brewed when I got up, all’s good.
That’s the problem. You’re facing north. The better riots should be facing south.
This shutdown probably brings back fond memories for Bill Clinton.
On the first day of the 1996 federal shutdown, with the normal paid White House staffers all on paid leave, only the 75 ot 80 unpaid interns were available at the White House. This opportunity allowed Bill and Monica to meet and develop the relationship that became history.
Traffic should be less, more parking available, shorter lines at reataurants.
What’s there not to like about a government shutdown?
Apologies for re-using a “sequester” joke but...
The zombies were out in full force this morning in Arlington, VA, looking for brains. They were heading for Capitol Hill, so it looks like they’re gonna starve.
All of this hysteria about the bloated federal government, that we pay for, going part time?
Oh no! The elite emperors and princesses might have to find a second job to pay for their bills. (not)
Americans will get the government they submit to. Shut it down and run it part time.
Apparently, this is the only real impact we should be expecting. Which really begs the question: Why do we spend trillions of dollars every year on the federal government?
No matter how HORRIFYINGLY PAINFULLY TRAGICALLY AWFUL it really is, it is a MILLION times worse. Then things get *really* tough. After that, HORRIBLE things happen, and then we REALLY get screwed. Immediately following that, the BOTTOM drops out and we are all DEAD, and THEN things get HARD! Once that happens, it signifies the TOTAL collapse of EVERYTHING, and that’s when the CATASTROPHE starts! It’s the sign of the end of EVERYTHING, but after that, comes the TRAGEDY. Then times get DIFFICULT, and things get WORSE, until it’s EXCRUCIATING, but that’s just the beginning, because after that it’s all PAIN.
They were wrong. The sun rose in the East.
Great idea for a thread. I live near a firehouse and under the flight path of our helicopter med evac. Silence. Perhaps the chaos has rendered them kaput.
I shall venture forth to scout the situation later today.
I’m a contractor for the Feds. Got a text message this morning from my boss that only govies were allowed to show up. We stay home and take a vacation day or LWOP.
it will be better without the feds
One of my husband’s doctors just called to remind us about today’s appointment. This is his first appointment with this doctor. Maybe they don’t know he has Medicare and TriCare. I guess the chaos won’t ensue until we present the Medicare card and military ID. But so far, so good.
Are we gonna be able to buy coffee?
This shutdown is going to affect me and mine at least ten times more than the sequester did. TEN TIMES.
And that's not funny.
Me too!...somewhere to the left in the photo
I feel more safe than I have felt in years.
When I think of the bureaucracy in Washington D.C. I can’t help but think of the Capitol in ‘The Hunger Games.’ The special people. The chosen ones. While the rest of the country has been struggling and wondering how they will make it without a job this town has been booming like the California gold rush. Partying and dancing and dining while the rest of the country begins to burn.
But this morning things look a little different. There is a sense of unease rippling through the machine.
It makes me smile quietly.
