It was passed, unanimously I believe, by the Senate and signed by Zero last night at around 10:00 pm.
It funds some DOD civilians that directly support the mission.
This military family was more than ready, willing and able to weather the storm but I’m glad we don’t have to. The troops still had to report to duty and I’m not sure a “volunteer” military means they have to do volunteer work without being paid.
The others can at least stay home and look for another job if necessary.
My Army organization of 100+ people are all laid off for the duration of the government shutdown. Part of our missing is supporting troops in the field and specialized pre-Deployment training That has been canceled.
Volunteer means that active duty soldiers report for duty, get shot at if in theater and will not receive a paycheck on the 15th & 30th of the month. At least the bill was passed that will pay them.
