As a UConn alum I can only say it’s about time. Anyone know if Auriemma knows anything about football...?

bad choice from the get-go....he’s never been able to adjust to an NFL style of quarterback after the tremendous success he had with donovan mcnabb at Syracuse...and the irony is now that he’s trying, everyone is winning with the wide open style offensive he employed at SU in the late 90’s...

UConn could go undefeated and be ranked #1, and the state's heart will still be with hoops.

The successful coach would take the hint and move on to an SEC or Big Ten school.

At least get an interim HC, thus take the time to go for someone from a sucessful football program.
UConn needs to go beyond b-ball.

As a long-time fan of both men's andwomen's BB, and who attended many games of both UConn's team's from 1990-2006, without a doubt the BEST collegiate player I ever saw was Diana Taurasi. Not only were her abilities on the court, shooting, dribbling, driving, defense superb, but she elevated her teammates' game. Basketball is supposed to be a TEAM game, not the attempt today by most men players to get a "Sportscenter" moment. UConn with Taurasi played the game the way it should be played..
 Maybe she can coach football..

Bear Bryant learned that at Kentucky they had another sport called basketball. He said he got a watch at the end of the season and the basketball coach got a new car.

Unfortunately I left UConn in 1981 and never got to see UConn win any national championships (except in soccer— 1981)....
