I liked the vertical beam that they put between Skyler and Walt in the middle of the frame. It emphasized how separate they were at that point.

I did too.

Over this entire series, I never saw them say “I love you” to each other, which was sad. (Maybe I just missed it?) And i thought their final scene could have shown a little more emotional attachment, especially since they both knew it was their last goodbye. She knew he was protecting her; I just thought she should have at least thanked him for it.

That vertical beam was probably used in the scene so Walt could “suddenly appear” out of nowhere, but like you said, it was great symbolism.
